Well It's really great to find such an interesting website that also deals with the issues of DSL and how can this service creates an impact on people. Yes indeed not just only DSL but any method of fast connections can create an impact. Businesses can profit from good and realiable connections and bad service is just the williness of some companies to not get ahead of the game.
Living three hours from Silicon Valley does give my small business the chance to grow. Our first hop is within the 3 mile radius and our edge router down at San Jose, Ca. The area technician tells us that on a scale 1 to 10 our signal strenght is 5.5% on a good day and 3.5% on a busy day.
As I look at what I have I can't complain much but I know that our provider strives hard to service well and as of three months ago were upgrading equipment to meet the demands of new users.
I hope that my fellow people in Puerto Rico get the chance to see inprovements on their services and that more providers can rise to provide this services versus having to deal with just one company (PRTC)

We at www.elmaunabeno.com and www.millyschildhomecare.com run our webs from computers at home running on DSL. Have you homeserver lately?
